About Survivor Mind

Welcome to Survivor Mind, a platform born out of resilience, reflection, and a deep commitment to honoring the human spirit. My name is Kyle Bingham, and I’ve spent my life navigating the unknown, exploring the boundaries of our world, and leading others through extraordinary challenges. From summiting Mount Kilimanjaro to descending into the depths of the ocean, my adventures have shaped who I am—but none have left as profound an impact as the events of the summer of 2023.

As an expedition leader and part-time firefighter EMT, I’ve faced countless situations that demanded courage, quick thinking, and unwavering resolve. Yet, nothing could have prepared me for the loss of five explorers under my leadership during a mission in the North Atlantic. That tragedy became a defining moment in my life. It was an experience that shattered my world and challenged me to confront the depths of grief, responsibility, and survival.

Survivor Mind was founded in the wake of that journey. It began as a personal quest to process my grief and to find a way forward, but it quickly became something larger—a place for others to discover their own strength, resilience, and capacity for survival. Through the blog, podcast, and resources offered here, I aim to share the lessons I’ve learned, the stories of courage I’ve witnessed, and the tools I’ve developed to navigate life’s most challenging moments.

At Survivor Mind, you’ll find stories of exploration—both external and internal. You’ll learn about my experiences as a first responder, where split-second decisions often meant the difference between life and death, and about the healing journey I embarked on after the North Atlantic expedition. Together, we’ll explore what it means to survive, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually, and how to honor those we’ve lost by living fully and with purpose.

This platform is more than a reflection of my journey; it’s a call to action for anyone facing their own struggles. Whether you’re climbing literal mountains or navigating the unseen peaks and valleys of life, Survivor Mind is here to remind you that you’re not alone. Survival is a mindset, a skillset, and a path that we walk together.

Thank you for being here, and for joining me as we navigate, discover, and blaze new trails toward resilience and hope. Together, we can honor the past, embrace the present, and shape a future rooted in strength and compassion.
