A letter from Kyle

Dear Friends and Fellow Explorers,

I am excited to introduce you to Survivor Mind, a platform dedicated to the art of resilience, the power of perseverance, and the deep human capacity to live through our most challenging experiences. This project is deeply personal, born out of years of exploration, leadership, public service, and profound moments of reckoning with life and loss.

The concept of a survivor mindset is often misunderstood. Many equate survival with merely enduring hardship or tragedy. But at its core, survival is about adaptation, growth, and finding meaning in the face of adversity. It’s about living through an experience—not just focusing on an event and working to get to the other side, but emerging stronger, wiser, and more compassionate because of it.

I founded Survivor Mind on a deeply personal belief: that survival is not a story of tragedy, or a single event, but one of transformation. Through my own experiences I’ve learned firsthand how resilience can shape us into something stronger.

This platform, located here at survivormind.com, is where we will explore these ideas together through podcasts, blogs, and stories from those who have faced the unthinkable and emerged with wisdom to share. It is inspired by the countless lessons I’ve learned in my own journey—leading expeditions, diving into the unknown, grappling with the loss of fellow explorers and working as a first responder.

Through these experiences, I’ve come to see that resilience isn’t about avoiding hardship. It’s about how we respond to it—how we let it shape us, and how we choose to move forward. The Survivor Mind community is for anyone seeking to embrace that mindset, to navigate life’s challenges with courage, and to find purpose in the process.

I invite you to join me as we launch this new venture. Together, we will delve into the stories, strategies, and science that illuminate the survivor mindset. We’ll honor the journeys and losses that have brought us here and empower one another to live fully and fearlessly through whatever lies ahead. Whether you’re an adventurer, an outdoor enthusiast, a first responder, a leader in search of inspiration, someone navigating personal loss or adversity, or simply curious about post-traumatic growth, you’ve found your people.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I can’t wait to share the road ahead with you.

In resilience,

Kyle Bingham
