About Kyle Bingham & Survivor Mind
Welcome to Survivor Mind. My name is Kyle Bingham, and for most of my life I’ve chased the edges of the map—climbing big mountains, exploring remote places, and leading others through environments where the stakes are real and the unknown is always waiting.
I’ve spent my career as an expedition leader and a Firefighter/EMT, relying on calm, clarity, and quick decisions. But nothing prepared me for the loss of five explorers under my leadership during a mission in the North Atlantic. That moment changed everything. It forced me to face grief, responsibility, and what survival really looks like when the world breaks open.
Survivor Mind started as a notebook—my attempt to make sense of what happened and find a way forward. It’s grown into a place for others to do the same. Through the blog, podcast, and resources here, I share the lessons I’ve learned, the courage I’ve witnessed, and the practical tools that have helped me rebuild.
Here, you’ll find stories from the field and from the heart: what it’s like to work as a first responder, what healing has looked like after the tragedy at sea, and how we honor those we’ve lost by how we live. We’ll talk gear, medical skills, physical preparation, and mindset—where real-world experience meets real-life challenges.
Survivor Mind isn’t just my story. It’s for anyone navigating their own mountains—visible or not. Survival is a mindset, a skillset, and a path we don’t have to walk alone.
I’m glad you’re here.
